These photography walks are designed for beginner and early-amateur photographers who want to understand how their camera works, without feeling overwhelmed or left behind.
Before the walk, we have a short one-to-one call. This is where we talk about your experience level, what you’re struggling with, and what you want to get out of the session. The route and focus of the walk are then planned around you, not a generic itinerary.
On the walk itself, we work through real scenes and real light, covering exposure, focus, and shooting decisions as they happen. Aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and how they work together are explained clearly, in context, while you’re shooting. Mobile phones are welcome too.
There’s no rushing and no pressure to keep up. You can ask questions at any point, and we slow down when something doesn’t click.
These walks are ideal if you’re new to manual or semi-auto modes, shoot on a camera or phone but don’t fully understand your results, or feel like your photos are inconsistent and frustrating.
Each walk takes place in a specific city and area, selected when booking. Available locations are shown in the options above.
Bring any camera or mobile phone you enjoy using, a charged battery, and comfortable shoes.
After booking, you’ll receive an email with details for booking a pre-walk call with me and a link to a questionnaire, both of which will help me understand your goals for the walk.
We will book the date of your walk when we speak on your call.

Do I need to prepare anything before the walk?
Before the walk, we’ll have a short one-to-one call to talk through your experience level, what you’re struggling with, and what you want to get out of the session. There’s no other preparation needed. Just bring your camera and be ready to shoot.
Do I need a specific camera or experience level?
No. These walks are suitable for beginner and early-amateur photographers using any camera, including mirrorless, DSLR, or even a mobile phone. The focus is on understanding your camera and how to use it in real situations, not on gear.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
If you need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as possible. I’ll always do my best to move you to another available date where notice is given.
Do you offer refunds?
No. Photography walks are non-refundable, as places are limited and planned in advance. If you’re unable to attend, you may be able to reschedule subject to availability. Full details can be found in the refund policy and terms of service.
